Amarnath Yatra is organized every year by Shri Amarnath Shrine Board (SASB) during the month of July and August. Dates vary according to weather condition and Purnima in month of Sravana.  This Yatra is supposed to be full of joy, thrill and has Spiritual Significance in Hindu Dharma .

Every year, more than 2,50,000 pilgrims visit there. You can take dandies and ponies for the tour. A helicopter service has also been started recently. So, if you can afford, you can enjoy the helicopter tour of Amarnath Cave.

Amarnath is situated in a glacial valley at 13,700ft. This cave is around 90 feet long and 150 feet high. From September to June, this area is covered with snow. It opens in July and August. It is the rainy season therefore devotees have to be courageous with the rain to assemble there. Complete health checkup and certain amarnath yatra precautions are necessary before you take up this tour.
